The BIG KNIT, Arndale Centre, Eastbourne

Shoppers had the opportunity to show off their crafting skills when the 'Great Big Knit' event took place at the Arndale Centre in Eastbourne.

Tasked with the challenge of 'Yarn-bombing' an iconic 7ft lighthouse across the weekend, knitters came from far and wide to lend a hand,  with our team of 'needle experts' teaching the tricks to 'knit & purl', whilst children perfected the simple art of finger knitting. 

Hosted in support of the Kipling Ward at Eastbourne's Conquest Hospital, over 30 new born baby bonnets were also knitted, as well as donations collected to fund life saving equipment. The event proved hugely popular, with calls for it to take place on a regular basis!
