World environment day 2019
Churchill Square Shopping Centre, Brighton
On the 3rd – 6th May 2019 Churchill Square hosted daily ‘Brighton Beach Clean’ sessions in partnership with Sea Life Brighton, collecting over 75kg of litter across the weekend, with the help of 300+ volunteer members of the public.
25,000 ethically produced & stylish branded cotton tote bags were sourced for the campaign and handed out in lieu of plastic bags by 75+ stores on World Environment Day – demand for the bags also increased consumer spend!
The creation & installation of Churchill Square’s own ‘Trash Art’ Fish Sculpture accompanied by educational information created an eye-catching display to promote the key campaign messages to shoppers.
The campaign was subsequently awarded a Green Apple Award for Environmental Excellence.
